Platform Lesson

More supply can scale risk as well as value

Temu's marketplace growth loop depends on more Shoppers attracting more Sellers, more Sellers adding more Products, and more choice and price competition attracting more Shoppers again. The DSA case exposes the other side of that loop: the same discovery and promotion systems can also increase the reach of unsafe or illegal products. Stronger governance may add friction and reduce raw supply, but it can still strengthen the platform if it raises the quality of what remains. The strongest marketplace is not the one with the most products. It is the one where additional products create more value than risk.
